    Mission

    The Office for Undeclared Students supports student success by partnering with faculty and staff across campus as undeclared students explore and engage in their educational and personal purpose. To advance undeclared student success in choosing a major leading to graduation, we collaborate with the following campus partners:

    New Student Orientation
    Undeclared freshmen are encouraged to participate in the "Undeclared Session" during New Student Orientation. Here you will learn strategies to choose a major, Career Services support during your major exploration process and fall 2015 course schedule recommendations.     Fall 2015 Undeclared Student Requirements

    Upon entering SDSU, all undeclared students are required to:


    -  Create your Aztec Connection Profile
    on the Career Services home page 
    (Due: Fall 2015)

    -  Complete the free-online Type Focus Assessment at:   http://go.sdsu.edu/student_affairs/career/assessmenttools.aspx
    (Due: Fall 2015)

    -  Attend at least one Student Success workshop/mentoring session during the fall 2015 semester (dates, times and rooms to be announced early September 2015)

    -  Participate in a minimum of two events sponsored by 
    Career Services
    (Fall 2015 and Spring 2016)

    -  Attend a minimum of two Undeclared College Council meetings
    (Fall 2015 and Spring 2016)

    -  Meet with an Adviser at the main Academic Advising Center
    (Fall 2015 and Spring 2016)

    -  Meet with a minimum of three Major Advisers in your areas of interest
    (Fall 2015)

    To maximize your success, we encourage all incoming undeclared freshmen to complete the above during the designated due dated noted above.

     

    Important reminder: Students must declare a major by the time you complete 60 units. A registration hold will be placed on your record until you officially declare your major at the Office of the Registrar. 

    Undeclared students will increase their likelihood of graduating within four years, if they develop a thoughtful plan in choosing a major and gain mentoring and advice from a variety of campus resources:
