    Mission

The Office for Undeclared Students supports student success by partnering with faculty and staff across campus as undeclared students explore and engage in their educational and personal purpose. To advance undeclared student success in choosing a major leading to graduation, we collaborate with the following campus partners:

    •     Academic Departments
    •     Advising & Evaluations
    •     Alumni Association
    •     Associated Students
    •     Career Services
    •     College Assistant Deans

    New Student Orientation
Undeclared freshmen are encouraged to participate in the "Undeclared Session" during New Student Orientation. Here you will learn strategies to choose a major, Career Services support during your major exploration process and Fall 2016 class schedule recommendations. To register for New Student Orientation visit:  http://go.sdsu.edu/student_affairs/orientation/

    Undeclared Student Resources

Upon entering SDSU, all undeclared students should:

    -  Create your Aztec Connection Profile
on the Career Services home page

    -  Complete the free online Type Focus Assessment at:   http://go.sdsu.edu/student_affairs/career/assessmenttools.aspx

    -  Attend at least one Student Success workshop/mentoring session

    -  Participate in events by
    Career Services

    -  Attend an Undeclared College Council meeting

    -  Meet with an Adviser at the main Academic Advising Center in SSW 1551

    -  Meet with Major Advisers in your areas of interest

To maximize student success, we encourage all incoming undeclared freshmen to complete the above during their first year.

Important reminder: you must declare a major by the time you complete 70 units. If you are still undeclared at 70+ units earned, a registration hold will be placed on your record until you officially declare your major at the Office of the Registrar.

Undeclared students can increase their likelihood of graduating within four years, if they develop a thoughtful plan in choosing a major by seeking mentoring and advice from a variety of campus resources:

    main campus advising,

    - major advisers - visit the Major Adviser Directory

    - career services counselors.  For Career Services counseling hours

    - Division of Undergraduate Studies.  Via walk-in hours (see above to the right) or via email: sdsuundeclared@mail.sdsu.edu
